Might anyone out there know anything about the following SMITH family?
Could it be connected to the vast Smith families of Long Island??:
'1759, Mar. 26, Smith, Henry, Sr., of the Borough of Elizabeth Town, Essex
Co.; Will of. Wife, Sarah. Children - Henry (cut off with 1L [one pound]
from sharing in real and personal estate), Mary, Sarah Hole, and Hannah
Meeker. Grandson, William, son of son Henry. Executors - son (in-law) Isaac
Meeker
and James Carpenter. Witnesses - John Ogden, John Jewel, Nicholas Baker.
Proved June 16, 1759.
Liber G, p.78 1759, April 20 - Inventory, L136.10.0 by Daniel Thompson and
John Ogden.'
I am interested in the HOLE family that dau. Sarah is shown being marr.
into. Have tried Henry 'Jr.' but with a zillion Henry Smith's it's a little
difficult. Also tried Isaac Meeker (Hannah's hus.) but found nothing that
way either.
Any help appreciated.
