I'd like to locate a male Smith who descends from a Smith family of Stamford, Fairfield Co., CT, because I think my Smiths may match this line. If you are a male Smith of this line and are the first such person to contact me and agree, I am willing to pay for your participation in the Northeastern Smiths DNA Project.

In particular, I suspect that my Daniel Smith, b 1774, perhaps Kent, Litchfield Co., CT, may descend from Daniel Smith and Deborah Webb of Stamford, Fairfield Co., CT. To the best of my knowledge, that Daniel's parents were Joseph & Mary Cornwell/Cornwall/Cornell, and Joseph's parents were Daniel Smith & Hannah Knapp. That Daniel was the son of Henry Smith, b 1619 London, England, died about 1687 in Suffield, Hartford Co., CT. Henry's wife was Hannah (last name unknown).
