Looking for anyone who may know where Cynthia was born. Looking for her Father and Mothers name.
1870 census states she was living in ucheeanna in Walton County with husband John Cannon and children. John Cannon was a Driver Wagoner, and lists her as keeping house. children are--
Margaret age 10, Nancy age 8, John age 6, and Mariann age 4. I do know the area was occupied by mostly Uchee Indians along with Creek Indians, Mariann later moved to Pensacola with other family members and mother, they lived in what was called Old Roberts town, off scenic hwy, creighton road, woodchuck area, where the Baywoods subdivision is.
They owned all the land from Woodchuck back to spainisht trail and distributed it amoung the children and grandchildren, Mariann's home still stands today an one of my cousins live there. Mariann Married a Southern, and had several children--Willie Tom, Ollie, Maggie,May. Mariann was my Great Grandmother and Ollie was my Grandmother. My Grandmother told me she was Indian and that is all she would say. You could not pull anything else out, and she told me to keep quiet about that.( If anyone has any information on any of the Smith Lineage I will be glad to exchange information with you.
