Subject: [SMITH-L] Regarding the Lycoming County, PA Smiths

Hello and Happy New Year!
I am descended from Mary Anne Smith, who, in turn is descended from John
Daniel Smith. THey belong to one of at least three Smith lines in the county.
One was started by a Buchanon Smith, and one by a George Smith, who built
a mill in Moreland Twp, Lycoming Co, PA shortly after the evolutionary War.
This became Smith Mills, which, slthough it can still be found on some
maps, was only a post office located at the mill.
My ex-wife is also descended from a line of the Smith family. This line
supposedly also started in Muncy Creek area but ended up in Rauchtown, which
is South of the Susquehanna, and may really have come from another ancestor.
Has anyone researched these lines, any of them? I am looking at everything
I can find, but a lot of it is confusing, and at times there are just too
man Smiths. :)
Thank you for any help you may give, and I have local Smith information I
will be glad to share.
Keep in touch,
Kim Minier, (4x great grandson of Mary Anne Smith)
