Does anyone recognize these Smiths. I would appreciate any information anyone
could share about them.

Alex and Hannah (maiden name unknown) Smith are my ggggrandparents.
Their daughter, Phebe Jane Smith married (1) George Washington Housden 1856 in
in Berrien County, Michigan and (2) Uri Hackett 1877 in Fayette County, Iowa.

Alex and Hannah are in the 1850 Berrien County, Michigan Census
Hanna was born about 1814 in Ohio and Hanna about 1816 in New York
Their children were Phebe Jane born 1838 in Ohio
Mary M. born about 1849 in Ohio
Charles W. born about 1842 in Ohio
William F. born about 1844 in Indiana
George born 1847 in Indiana
Catherine born 1849 in Michigan.

This is the only time I have found Alex. Hannah was named as a single woman in the
divorce of her daughter Phebe’s future father-in-law Edmond Housden and his second wife
Mary Murdock (maiden name unknown) in Berrien County, Michigan in 1854.
