I've "rescued" three old photographs which all belong to the SMITH Family.
The first is a photograph of Herbert A. SMITH which was taken at the Dwight
Studio in Le Mars, Iowa. The photograph appears to have been taken in the
1890's with Herbert likely in his 50's at the time it was taken. The other
two photographs both appear to be of Earle S. SMITH, with one taken at the
Dwight Studio in either Remsen or Marcus, IA. This photograph was also
likely taken in the 1890's with Earle appearing to be in his early teens at
the time.

The third photograph is not specifically identified, however it appears to
be another photograph of Earle S. SMITH or someone who very closely
resembles him. This photograph appears to have been taken in the 1890's at
the Wilson Studio in Cherokee, IA. Earle also appears to be in his teens at
the time, though definitely older than the previous photograph of him.
Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information and
locate the family in census records as follows:

Herbert A. SMITH was b. in Jamaica, VT to parents Samuel SMITH (b. 1809 in
Jamaica, VT) and Laura Ann HOWARD (b. 1812 in VT). Herbert married Elsie ?
And together they had three children, Alice, Charles, and Leslie SMITH all
born between 1870 and 1880. I believe the their fourth child was Earle S.
SMITH pictured in the other photographs.

I am hoping to locate someone from this SMITH Family so that these wonderful
old treasures can be returned to their rightful place, with family. If you
are a member of this family, or you know someone who might be, please
contact me.

Thanks,
Shelley
