Suggest you go along to, or get in touch with the Sandwell Community
and History Archives Service based within the Smethwick Library, High Street
Smethwick and talk to Maureen (Mo) Waldron?. Tel 0121 558 2561. They reopen
on Tuesday I think. She is responsible for collecting and maintaining
photographic records of Sandwell which includes West Bromwich. The West Brom
Central library will more than likely refer you to Smethwick.

Re the Edward Street Hospital a p.c of this (No 12) is also included in the
book of old W Brom Pcs previously referred to. Known as the District
Hospital it was erected in 1869-71. In August 1981 a fire destroyed part of
the site shortly before demolition work was due to commence. I beleive parts
of the original buildings still exist.
