Hi Mavis - I'm in a similar situation to you - also all my relatives have
come from all over England

How I solve this is that I go to my nearest LDS Church Family History Centre
and they will send for the film for that locality and that period - you may
wish to look up other records from this same film. Its not expensive and
you will find them very knowledgeable and helpful, please email me off list
if you want any further information.

I have been trying to find 2 marriages for years and years and I was
advised to get in touch with Staffordshire Record Office but they wouldn't
do a free look-up for me, which Flintshire Record Office at Hawarden do.
They advised me to visit ( which I can't) or employ a researcher ( see
below)

"If you are unable to visit we also offer a research service charged at
9.50
per half hour and our research assistant, who is experienced in family
history, could check the registers on your behalf. "

So I was wondering if anyone had access to a Marriage Index for the
Burton-upon-Trent and Uttoxeter area's?
Could I please request 2 marriages, firstly, William CHATFIELD,
Butcher, Uttoxeter, who married Charlotte WRIGHT, Uttoxeter, first child
born 1847.
Secondly, William Job DAVIS, Cooper born 1843, Great Badminton,
married Selina CHATFIELD, Uttoxeter, first child born 1867.(These two were
living in the Burton-upon-Trent area abt 1871 and William Job must have left
Great Badminton before he was 17, so suspect that he may have moved up North
then)
