Hello,
I have just downloaded the 1991 Census entry for William PHILLIPS in
Hindley Lancashire (my great grandfather), and it lists his birthplace
as Pensetl, Staffordshire.

This doesn't look right, and from looking at a map the closest match I
can see is Pensnett. My question is, can anyone with more local
knowledge suggest anywhere that the entry is more likely to mean?

If it does prove to be Pensnett, then this will be quite exciting, as
it will put my Dad's Dad's side of the family only a few miles from my
Dad's Mum's side of the family, before my grandparents married up here
in Lancashire.

My Dad's side (the FLETCHER's) lived in Cradley Heath/Rowley Regis.

As I'm new to this list, may I invite anyone with FLETCHER or PHILLIPS
ancestors in the Cradley/Rowley Regis/Brierley Hill area to get in
touch!

Many thanks, Matt Fletcher
