I agree that the FREE access was helpful but I now find that all that
"free" stuff was not always correct and can cost you a lot in time
trying to backtrack and correct. With the paid access you do get a lot
of extra information to add to your puzzle. I especially like to search
in Ancestry and it tells you how many databases agree with your
information and shows you other options people offer. I too hesitated
to pay the price but finally did a two weeks free trial to soak out as
much information as possible and was quite surprised at what has been
established. I now pay for the service. I can get in touch with
contributors via email and haggle out the finer details and get photos
etc.

forAncestry.com?
Dorene
www.rootsweb.com is free and takes information from ancestry.com.
Actually they are owned by the same company (church) along with
genealogy.com
The info in roots web can lag behind the info in ancestry not sure how
often they update.
As far as ancestry.com goes they have less expensive plans they just
don't advertise them. I pay $79.00 a year and have access to all U.S.
census, SSI
Marriage, birth and death records available in the U.S. along with there
trees.

Ancestry.com?
Hi Stamper Family;
Geneva is right, for I too have seen this about Ancestry.com. Four
years
ago you could find all kinds of information with ease. Now it's so
complicated that I hate and it, and the amount they are asking is just
unheard of and far too expensive for my budget.
Do any of you know of an ancestry program to take the place of
Ancestry.com?
I was told about one for free and after jumping through their hoops for
about a half-an-hour I never did find a program so I logged off. All it
seemed to be is a way to get people signed up for unwanted e-mail
specials
and nothing more. For weeks I received 'X' rated e-mail.
Thanks, Cousin Dorene
