When he was trying to get his social security through, we went to see his Aunt Carrie (Caroline Stamper) Marcum in either in Kansas or Missouri looking for a family bible. She gave him a letter saying she was there the day he was born. He still had to wait two years. So there are conflicting birth dates. I am wondering if that bible is still out there some where. and if his mother's death is recorded in it. She is on the 1900 US Census in Illinois and by 1910 census she is missing. I know where she is buried (kinda). There is no record of her death or burial in the Illinois records that I have been able to find so far.
