I have heard of the VA Powell & Mary but not the NC. I do have
information that my Isom's family 'may have' come from Wilkes Co, NC. No
documentation.

Hello to all from North Carolina.
We research the elusive Iredell Co., NC Stampers. From our research we are
convinced that our Stampers
came from Wilkes Co, into Iredell. But we have many, many brick walls.
Always open to any and all
connections......
We have documented proof that a man named Powell Stamper married Mary
Copelin, 08 SEP 1808 in
Iredell Co. It is most likely that this Powell Stamper was going by his
middle name, as all the census
from Wilkes and Iredell show no man named Powell. But we can document his
wife Mary ("Polly") all
the way through the Civil war and many of her children. Many publications
list a Powell married to
a Mary much earlier in VA, but our NC Powell is a totally different man.
Anyone want to jump in, feel free.

Hello to everyone on both mailing lists.
For the past couple weeks, I have been working on the Stamper Family
Project website .. I had not been aware of all the broken links until I
started going through the site page by page. All the links in the
'STATES' section, ... should be working. I apologize for any
inconvenience this may have caused anyone.
It has been a while since a roll call has been done. The Stamper Family
Project mailing list has 121 subscribers. I am not sure how many are
subscribed to the Stamper-mailing list ..... :- )) There have been a
few new cousins subscribed to the list recently. Welcome to everyone! I
would like to let them know that they are among some of the most
helpful fellow researchers on both lists; and are more than happy to
share family information. I encourage you to hit 'reply all'; so your
introduction will go to everyone on both lists; in case there are
individuals subscribed to only one list.
If you can take a few minutes and introduce yourself; giving us a bit
of your lineage back a few generations. Mention any 'brick walls' you
may have; along with any new discoveries you may have made.
Take care .. hope to see everyone checking in .... !
