Sue,

I wonder if John King's age was incorrectly recorded in the 1921
Newfoundland census. In the 1881 census for England, the only John King
from Burbage that is close to the one you described is a John King who was
17 (thus born 1863 or 1864), born in Burbage, and living in Collingbourn
Ducis, working as a carpenters apprentice.

This John King then corresponds to the John King baptized in Burbage 9 Aug.
1863, the son of Edward and Mary Ann King. The August baptism could mean
this John King was born in July 1863. So, given the possible July birth,
the connection to Collingbourn, etc., perhaps he is really the same John
King as the one in the 1921 census in Newfoundland except for a discrepancy
in his age in that census.

Hi folks

Don't fall off your chairs, yes I'm actually asking about a name other than
Jackman !

In my travels I happened to run across a

John King Born July 1871 in Burbage and found in Grandfalls Newfoundland in
the 1921 Census
Wife was Eliza Born May 1870 Collingbourn - eng
Daughter Lizzie Born 1900 Collingbourn - Eng

Now I can't seem to reconcile this John King with the names on the Burbage
list so I was wondering if anyone had any ideas or may have information on
this fellow.

Boy sure is quiet on this list...kinda lonely
