Raymond,
Auntie Gerty married a Rayner and I think it was John. She had two sons if I
remember correctly, Duggie and Reggie. I think Reggie was shot down in WW2 -
he was a bomber pilot. We always had Auntie Gerty and Beattie for tea on the
Saturday before Remembrance Day and there were always tears.

You mentioned that Gertrude married a Rayner. Would you know his name?
Was it John Rayner? There was a John Rayner who married a Gertrude
Stockdale 3rd qtr 1911.
I believe that John was the son of William & Mary Rayner of 41 Church
Street
on the Census 1901. William described as a 'Woolen Merchant'.
