URR NEWS: WESTERN PENNSYLVANIA UNDERGROUND RAILROAD SYMPOSIUM, INDIANA,
PENNSYLVANIA, NOVEMBER 8-10, 2002
The Third Annual Western Pennsylvania Underground Railroad Symposium will
be held at Indiana, Pennsylvania, November 8-10, 2002. Sessions include a
discussion of a state underground railroad network for Pennsylvania, and
sessions on Politics, Religion and Anti-Slavery, Women and the Underground
Railroad, a workshop on curriculum, a workshop on documenting URR sites and

The people at Indiana, Pennsylvania, have been very active. See the
following news story on the recent (September 27, 2002) dedication of a
state historical marker commemorating the "The Rescue of Anthony
