THE 1930 U.S. FEDERAL CENSUS: HISTORY, HELPFUL HINTS, AND HOW-TO.

This lecture presented by Jake Gehring will take a close look at the 1930
U.S. Federal Census and its associated finding aids. Discussion topics
include using the both the indexed and unindexed portions of the census
schedules, finding aids like the NARA 1930 Microfilm Locator, which local
repositories carry 1930 microfilm, and using major online 1930 resources
like Ancestry.com.


Jake Gehring is a popular technology writer and lecturer. Jake is employed
by ProQuest, Inc. as the Publisher for HeritageQuest, a genealogical firm
specializing in products and services for today's librarians. Jake
graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Genealogy/Family
History and is former editor of Genealogical Computing. Jake lives in Salt
Lake City, Utah with his wife and children.


Utah South Area Family History Training Center is located directly west of
Farrer Middle School. There is limited parking at the rear of the Training
Center (to the west) and also along the street to the north and east.
Parking at the school across the street to the east may also be used.

Please do not park in front of neighboring houses.
