Hello Peter,

Yes, after hearing from Joan I've now put Martha, John Thomas, Ernest, Clara Fair and Moses Yoxall under Jane Bradley in my tree. As far as the parentage of them is concerned, the younger ones may even have been Matthew's children, but in any event she probably just registered the babies under her then own surname as Yoxalls. We might never find out who their father(s) are.

Anyway, after amending my tree as above, I did some research on Matthew Bradley's family, and its amazing how the different surnames keep popping up again and again. I remember a Faulkner appearing in a ???Yoxall household Census record way back, and I noticed that Phoebe Bradley also became a Falkner[Faulkner]. I don't know if they're related, but my husband's grandfather Charles Lewis Yoxall born 1880 in Manchester, Lancashire married Margaret Faulkner born 1895 in Manchester. I hit a brick wall when I was researching her family - even Jim's tree sadly didn't help - but I shall delve further into that area. Sorry.. I digress.....

I shall get onto the Motterheads now and get back to you if I find any connection between Lily and Ernest.

Regards,
Janet

Jane,
Following all messages so far - I think.

I don't have any children for Thomas and Emily, as you say the 4 you had
were Jane's possibly illegitimate. Sounds a bit like a Grace Byford I had ,
she had 11 children between 1852 and 1870. Husband , William Byford, died in
1861 - this didn't seem to stop the baby production - I wonder how many were
his before he died!
Regards,
Peter
